Hey Tennessee APCO, it’s that time again!!!!!
Our first meeting this year will be held on Wednesday April 9th, at the Knox County 911 Center. The meeting will begin at 11:00AM Eastern time. We will be electing our 2009 Officers, review the latest items from APCO, get an update on the Winter Summit, and discuss the Constitution and Bylaws updates. We will also begin taking submissions for the 2008 Scholarship awards.
Our last meeting had a terrific turnout, and I hope that this one will be even better. We know that due to the geography of the state, that it is difficult for all of our members to attend each meeting, especially when we meet in the east or west regions since the drive can be 400+ miles for our members on the opposite end of the state. We hope to continue rotating the meeting locations so everyone has the opportunity to participate, but that all depends on you. TNAPCO would like to solicit an invitation to meet at your facility if possible. I don’t mind hosting here in Nashville, and I know the Knoxville bunch enjoys having us there, but I believe there are others out there that might like to show off their operations too. We all learn something each time we visit a different center, and often we can apply something we learned to our own operations. It’s a win-win for everyone. So please consider hosting a TNAPCO meeting if you can.
On another election note, our neighbor Barry Woodward from the Georgia Chapter is running for the 2nd VP spot this year, and has requested we add a link to his website. That link is: www.barryapco2008.com. Please take a minute to visit his site. While Barry is an excellent choice for the position, the chapter itself can not endorse any one candidate, hence TNAPCO will post any other candidates website information at their request, when received.
Thank you again for your support during my tenure as TNAPCO President. I have enjoyed serving you over the past 3 years, but am now looking forward to passing the gavel to your next president. See you on the 9th! |
