Step Up & Serve: TN APCO Needs You!
TN-APCO is seeking passionate members who are ready to make a difference by serving on the chapter board. We currently have openings for 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. If you're interested in helping guide the future of our chapter and supporting the public safety communications community, we encourage you to step forward and get involved.

Submissions must be received no later than April 1, 2026, at 18:00.
Duties & Powers
It shall be the duty of the Vice-President to perform all duties of the President in his absence, and the Vice-President shall serve in the absence of the President. Vice-President is hereby empowered to act in a reasonable and proper manner to perform duties as delegated in this Article.
This includes but is not limited to; presiding at all meetings of this Chapter and act as Chair of the Executive Committee in the absence of President and/or 1st Vice President. They shall: (a) appoint all Committees in accordance with Article V of these By-Laws; (b) carry out the purposes of this Chapter as set forth in this Constitution and By-Laws; (c) keep the Vice-President informed on all Chapter matters; (d) make appointments to fill vacancies in office in accord with Article III, Section 2 of the Chapter By-Laws. In addition to such other authority as he may have, the President is empowered to: (a) appoint special committees to perform tasks deemed necessary during his term in accordance with Article V, Section 2 of the Chapter By-Laws; (b) call any Committee into session at any time; (c) have the necessary power to carry out his duties as delegated in this Article; (d) incur reasonable and proper personal expense in accord with Article IX of these By-Laws; and (e) authorize specific Chapter duties. His parliamentary decision upon the Meeting floor shall be final, provided, it does not conflict with the Meeting Rules of this Chapter or Roberts Rules of Order.
Duties & Powers
It shall be the duty of the Secretary to: (a) keep a complete roll of the membership; (b) receive and answer communications and perform such other Chapter duties as may be required by the President; (c) act as Secretary of the Executive Committee; (d) immediately publish the results of the election to all members after the certification of the election of officers; (e) send flowers in memory of deceased members of the Chapter, each such expenditure to be paid from the Chapter Treasury (not to exceed $300.00 plus tax). These disbursements shall be by check signed by the Treasurer.
Duties & Powers
It shall be the duty of the Treasure to: (a) receive general funds due this Chapter; (b) pay reasonable and proper orders drawn on him by vote of the Chapter, or during the time intervening between meetings, orders drawn on him by the Executive Committee when signed by the President; (c) make a full report of his activities and a financial statement at the annual (Spring) meeting, or at such time as the Executive Committee may direct or as directed in Article VIII, Section 2 of the Chapter By-Laws; (d) submit periodical financial statements to the Executive Committee and to have a complete audit of all records made at such time as the Executive Committee may direct; (e) promptly deliver all funds, books and papers to his successor or whomsoever the Chapter may designate; (f) establish credit, banking facilities, printing and recording facilities, and clerical assistance, information and other services as necessary to perform their duties; (g) to incur reasonable and proper expense in accordance with Article VIII, Section 1 of the Chapter By-Laws; and (h) shall prepare a budget for review by the Executive Committee and membership at the Fall Meeting.

TN APCO is proud to recognize Police Radio Dispatcher Jazmin Moore of Memphis Emergency Communications as our Headset Hero of the Quarter.
With more than a decade of service, Jazmin exemplifies professionalism, leadership, and dedication within Emergency Communications. As a Communications Training Officer and Communications Training Senior, she has played a key role in mentoring new dispatchers and strengthening her team.
In December 2025, she expanded her impact by transitioning to the Technology Support Team, bringing valuable frontline experience to support operational systems and improve efficiency across the bureau.
Jazmin’s commitment to excellence, service to the public, and support of her colleagues make her truly deserving of this recognition.
